EarTrain Pro has no accounts, logins or databases of users. Here is everything that happens with data on this site.

Practice data stays on your device

Your scores, streaks, common mix-ups and exercise settings are saved in your browser’s local storage so you can pick up where you left off. They never leave your device. You can see them on your progress page and delete them there with one click, or by clearing your browser’s site data.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.

AI tutor and coach

When you press “Ask” or “Explain my mistakes”, the text of your question (or a summary of your exercise results) is sent to our server and on to an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway to generate the answer. We do not store these requests or link them to you. A temporary, in-memory counter of requests per IP address is used to prevent abuse and is discarded within minutes. Please don’t type personal information into the tutor.

Audio

All sounds are generated in your browser with the Web Audio API. The site never asks for your microphone.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the service.
