MusicTheory Academy is designed with privacy as a core principle. All your progress data, practice history, and preferences are stored locally in your browser only. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or user data to our servers.

  • No user accounts: We do not require registration or login
  • No server-side data: Your progress stays on your device
  • IndexedDB storage: All data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB
  • You control your data: Clear your browser data to remove all information

Audio Generation

All audio used in exercises is generated client-side using the Web Audio API. No audio files are uploaded or transmitted. Your practice sessions are completely private.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the platform. This includes:

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Browser type and device information
  • Geographic location (country level only)

These analytics services do not track individual users or collect personal information. The data is aggregated and anonymous.

Cookies

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Any cookies used are strictly functional and necessary for the website to operate (e.g., session management for analytics).

Third-Party Services

This website uses the following third-party services:

  • Vercel Analytics: Anonymous page view tracking
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics: Anonymous website usage statistics
  • Google Fonts: Font delivery (no tracking)

Your Rights

Since we don't collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no data for us to access, modify, or delete. You have complete control over your local data:

  • Clear your browser cache and IndexedDB to remove all practice data
  • Use browser privacy/incognito mode to avoid local storage entirely
  • Export your progress data to a JSON file for backup (feature available in settings)
