Prohibited activities include:

Intellectual Property

Music theory concepts, scales, and chord progressions themselves are not copyrightable as they are fundamental musical knowledge in the public domain.

  • The exercises or explanations are completely accurate
  • Your progress data will be permanently stored (it's stored locally in your browser)

We recommend regularly backing up your progress data using the export feature.

Limitation of Liability

MusicTheory Academy and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the service.

No User Accounts

This service does not require user registration or accounts. All progress is stored locally in your browser. We are not responsible for data loss due to browser cache clearing, device changes, or browser issues.

Exam Preparation

While MusicTheory Academy can help prepare for music theory exams (AP Music Theory, ABRSM, RCM, etc.), we do not guarantee exam success. Exam formats and requirements may change, and we are not affiliated with any examination board.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
